ASCD Virtual Author Workshops are online master classes that provide exclusive access to ASCD thought leaders for a limited participants to encourage engaging learning experiences. They count towards your professional development clock hours depending on your state-specific requirements.
Hosted by William H. Parrett and Kathleen M. Budge, based on their book Turning High-Poverty Schools into High-Performing Schools (2nd Edition), this special opportunity consists of two sessions January 24 and 26, 2023 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 p.m. e.t. for a total of three clock hours.
What You Will Learn:
- How to lead with a "spirit of reciprocity" and build an instructional leadership team that can cultivate collective efficacy.
- How to move out of the "blame game" so educators can clear the way for what is possible in a Title I school.
- How to scaffold professional learning using staff-led immersive learning sessions, PLCs and instructional coaching so educators have the "success experiences" needed to develop collective efficacy.
- How to use the science of improvement to strengthen school improvement processes so they actually disrupt the adverse impact of poverty on learning.
