Hi Everyone! I'm Jan Yost (she/her), NHASCD Executive Director. I've been a member of ASCD for over 30 years! Phew..time flies!! I live on the Seacoast of NH with my husband. I'm really excited by the possibilities of this platform. I'm curious if we, as an educational system, will seize this opportunity to reinvent what public education looks like and shift the paradigm on how schooling addresses the needs of our students.
Welcome, Jan! We look forward to working with you and @NHASCD on the ASCD Professional Learning Community platform!2 -

Hi everyone. I'm Starr Sackstein (she/her), ASCD author, education consultant and former English educator. I live in Oceanside, NY but have enjoyed zooming with teacher teams from all over this country this year helping teachers, help students stay engaged. I've seen many things changing for the better and I'm curious and hopeful that the opportunities we saw offering themselves become mainstays in our educational system. For example, many folks have shifted assessment practices and have provided grace for their students because of exposed equity issues.4

Greetings and Salutations to All! I am Steven W. Anderson, currently working working to make schools happy, healthy, and safe learning environments for all students. I am from North Carolina although I am never there as I travel nearly 300 days a year. I have 2 daughters (yes they still remember me) and to answer your question about my beard, I have been growing it for 3 years. I am glad ASCD is bringing back the Communities. I was a big fan and supporter of EDGE and it's wonderful to have a space like that again!5

Hello all! Good to see some familiar faces!
I'm Tammy Musiowsky-Borneman, coach and consultant with a focus on productivity and efficiency for teachers, so they can focus on ... teaching, and not all the other things that bog us all down! I also host webinars and workshops on teaching strategies and whole child education for a couple of companies and ASCD affiliates. I was excited to the first President of ELASCD, and continue be an active EL in all sorts of ways. First ASCD publication is coming out this summer - so excited to have co-authored it my a former colleague and wonderful friend that I met when teaching in Singapore. I also taught elementary in NYC and Edmonton. Excited to have these communities zhuzhed up and looking awesome!6 -

Jeffrey Benson (he, him, his) here--long time school leader and teacher; author of 3 ASCD books, including one that just came out this week, and one with Corwin (Teaching the Whole Teen). I'm in the Boston area, and my website is JeffreyBenson.org. My long term work has been helping schools be more successful with more students, which allows me many entry points into school practices, cultures, and expectations. I'm curious about how and whether school leaders and their teams will use the full re-opening in September to implement changes they always wanted to make, or instead will they invest in replicating what they had before; I am starting to get requests to help on re-openings.4
