The importance of trust in student-teacher relationships cannot be overstated. For students to learn and grow, they need to feel safe and supported, and this can only happen when there is trust between them and their teachers. Furthermore, empowering students to trust themselves and their decision-making abilities is essential for their success, both inside and outside the classroom.

One area where trust can be particularly challenging is in open-ended tasks. Many students struggle with these types of tasks because they doubt their own abilities and are afraid of making mistakes. As a result, they may not take risks or be assertive, which can limit their learning and growth.
